Suzuki Kizashi

Maruti being a very trusted brand in India is now entering into D segment cars and going to launch Maruti Suzuki KIZASHI very soon in India. Maruti Kizashi is still in the concept stage in India. Maruti Suzuki Kizashi was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 and later at the 9th Auto Expo in New Delhi in 2008. Maruti Kizashi will be priced at Rs. 10 lakh and therefore will be a premium car with luxury features.

Concept KIZASHI was specifically developed to establish the overall design theme of the kizashi series. A true highway athlete, concept kizashi strikes the perfect balance between driver comfort and sportiness,with a roomy cabin melded to a lean, dynamic exterior. The car will be a great challenege for the cars like Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia. Expected to be priced around Rs. 10 lacks, it will have many pioneering features like very efficient GPS, powerful music system, and is likely to be powered by a 2 liter turbo diesel engine. Kizashi is also likely to have a six speed transmission and large 21 inch alloys. The car is likely to be produced at the company’s Manesar plant in Haryana.

Suzuki plans to use a hybrid arrangement (an internal combustion engine provides the main propulsion, and an electric motor provides assistance whenever extra power is needed) to achieve environmental compatibility. Kizashi’s dynamic performance will be enhanced all-wheel drive (AWD) a technology that Suzuki has refined over many years.

The Kizashi comes standard with all wheel drive, but can be switched to FWD mode to save fuel. Its only engine at introduction will be a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder with 185 hp and 170 lb/ft of torque, though a 6 cylinder is expected at a later date. Available transmissions are a 6 speed manual or a CVT. The CVT version reduces power to 180 hp, and has a 0-100 km/h time of less than 8 seconds. A hybrid variant is also in development. Installed with cutting edge technology, the 4.7-inch touch-screen Personal Navigation Device with in-built Bluetooth and easy to use interface, digital entertainment features like video and audio player, turn-by-turn voice prompted directions make this car highly safe. The GPS comes with preinstalled comprehensive Maps cover detailed road maps of 404 cities and more than 16 lacks destinations.
